A new study suggests that men taking a low dose of Viagra, the active ingredient in erectile dysfunction drugs, may experience more sexual performance problems, even if they’ve taken a lower dose of the drug.

According to the study, “The findings indicate that while some men may not experience significant sexual performance problems at their lowest doses of the drug, they do experience a greater degree of sexual satisfaction and a greater sense of sexual function, and this may result in improved sexual function.”

“I’m very concerned about this study because the way it came out may have been different,” he said.
The researchers used computerized research methods to compare the effects of low dose Viagra with those of a high dose of the drug. They then asked about the impact of other factors, such as age, weight, lifestyle, and other health conditions on sexual performance, such as smoking, alcohol consumption, and other medications.
Pearson and his colleagues looked at data from men who were prescribed the drug at least once a week for a year or longer.
They found that men taking the drug experienced a higher percentage of satisfying sexual experiences, compared with those who did not take the drug.
The results, the researchers said, show that men taking the drug, which is also the active ingredient in Viagra, experienced greater sexual performance problems than those taking a lower dose.
The researchers also found that men taking Viagra reported more sexual satisfaction and a more satisfying sexual experience compared with those who did not take the drug.
Pearson said the results “provide new hope for men who are currently taking medications to improve their sexual health and well-being.”
